Carbon Monoxide: The Silent Killer

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colorless, tasteless, and odorless gas. It is produced by the incomplete burning of solid, liquid, or gaseous fuels. Appliances such as furnaces, ranges, water heaters, and room heaters which are fueled by natural gas, oil, kerosene, liquefied petroleum, coal, or wood can produce carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide displaces oxygen in the blood stream making it extremely poisonous, and sometimes fatal to people and animals.
